Save The Words

When you visit the site the words call out to you... "Pick me!" and "Over here!" Just begging to be saved and used! Kind of reminds me of those puppy eyes when you visit a pound... It's so hard to say no and pull away. That's how this site pulls you in, you just can't resist. It's light-hearted and doesn't take itself too seriously. The site has just the right amount of sarcasm to attrack both book worms and the regular bored Internet surfer. Anyone can enjoy this site for at least 15 minutes.

Who's Finding My Stuff?
I absolutely love the website, FoundMagazine.com The site basically collects and posts items that people find. It has everything from love notes, grocery lists, photos, ticket stubs and receipts. I went there today to look through some of the recent finds. Here are some of my favorites to give you a taste of what they're all about. I also included the witty captions that tell you more about the photos or provide other commentary.

It seems Ted's heartfelt apology isn't enough to win back Allyssa... I especially love the little cartoons; Allyssa's crossed out his and drawn one of her own. Do you think she's stabbing him?

I found this in a book (a bookmark?) while I was looking through an old library collection at an estate sale. 1954 is typed on the back, that's it. It seems so lonely, like no one else exists in this world, but someone is taking the picture. It seems sad that the plane is tipped up on an edge like its crashed. Also the expressionless monkey mask creeps me out.

I found this in a drawer in a restaurant in Los Feliz. It's obviously written by a child, and it breaks my heart that a child would ever have to feel this guarded that he would write something so profound and emotional. I hope that this kid is having a better go of life by now.
Found this in a book at a used book store. The back says: "SHIRLEY FEEDING THE FOWL AT LAGUNA SCO PROB FALL 88 -THATS A SLICE OF CLARKS BREAD IN THE AIR-"
I work at a recycling center (and find enough things to start my own 'found' site). I thought this was FOUND-worthy because of the author's unique style. Maybe they're now hard at work on the next "great American novel???"
